Notices for Winter 2007-2008
We'll be Open Today - Tuesday 02-26-2008 Normal Hours

Some times it seems like the best Snow Fort or play snow is
always at the end of the driveway or some place that's not safe for the kids to play on.

Well - We fixed that by moving a snow hill into the fenced backyard
so the kids can have a blast! - in the safety of the backyard.

A Note on Our Opening/Closing and Preparedness:

We have only closed once in Our history - The weather Service had posted Winter Storm Warnings and Blizzard Conditions which they stated could be life threatening for the day. We took the Weather Service seriously and determined that the safest place for the kids that day would be at home with their parents so we closed and posted notices very early - We didn't want anyone stranded enroute in the predicted Severe Weather. (Their prediction proved to be reasonably accurate)

On the rest of the days where the snow and the cold is an inconvenience We know that many Parents need to or want to get to work, to take care of things that are very important (business, medical, emergency, utility and many other things we all depend on everyday) and We know that Parents want to feel confident that their Kids will be safe, warm, and well fed untill they return. Thats the reason that we're open every day.

One of the things that You generally do not see is the emergency provisions that we prepare. We Prepare emergency backup electricity, heat, water, food and (even snowplowing) whatever we need to be here for You and Your Children. It's a lot of work and it's an expense but it's necessary for Us, for You to know that We'll be here when You need Us.

Weather Notes
We access the latest "up to the minute
weather" by the internet subscription services that supply aviation weather - because it's, accurate, specific, up to the minute, and gives us weather specific to each locality.

The latest weather "tool" we started using - color weather radar (local), specific information, notices, and weather alerts, - delivered to our web enabled (color display) cell phones - almost instantly - and anywhere -
which is great for field trips !

We also monitor the National Weather Service direct weather Radio broadcast, and of course local radio, as all sources combine to give Us the latest Forecast, Radar, and Weather Notices. We can't guarantee the weather, but We do Our best to stay ahead of it.
Thanks, Doris and Ken Wanagas
